Do you still have a physical server in your office? You’re not alone – even with the migration to cloud services over the past decade, plenty of businesses here in Charlotte still maintain a physical server in their office.

If you run a professional services firm and you still have a server in your office, I’d suggest that you begin planning to “retire” it and move to a serverless network in 2023. And below are several reasons why this is the case.

(Of course, every situation is different, and if you’re not convinced that this is the right course of action, please feel free to contact me and I’d be happy to talk-it-through with you. Feel free to reach out via email at info@weareproactive.com or call 704-464-3075 extension 3.

Benefit #1 – Going serverless saves money. Transitioning to a serverless network requires an up-front investment, but you will quickly recoup that investment through reduced maintenance costs.

Benefit #2 – Going serverless supports remote work without compromising security. In our post-COVID world, remote work is very common, and I don’t see this changing anytime soon, if ever. Serverless networks make it easy for employees to access their data easily, without compromising security in the process.

Benefit #3 – Going serverless makes life simple. At Proactive IT, we use Microsoft-based technologies for our clients. Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform is simple and elegant for employees to use. Employees can access all of their applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, OneDrive, etc) with just a single sign-in. It’s easy, convenient, and efficient.

Benefit #4 – Going serverless reduces risk. A physical server in your office is vulnerable to all sorts of disasters – from damage in a fire or flood to employee sabotage. Moving to a serverless network dramatically reduces these risks.

Bottom line: If your professional services firm still relies on a physical server in your office, there are a number of compelling reasons why I think you should strongly consider moving to a serverless network. If you’d like to discuss this topic in more detail, please feel to reach out.
